About the Manufacturer of Buspirone – Buspar
The chief manufacturer of Buspar is Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. is commonly referred as BMS is a pharmaceutical corporation founded in the year 1887 by William Mclaren Bristol and John Ripley Myers. The company headquarters is located in New York City, New York, USA. Bristol-Myers Squibb has manufactured and sold the Brand Buspar under the name Buspirone HCL since 1986. Since the original Buspar patent had expired the company obtained another patent for anxiety treatment in the name of metabolite of Buspar. A metabolite is a substance involved in metabolism i.e. a substance created by the interaction of the body and the particular drug.

Soon after obtaining the patent rights, the company notified FDA about manufacturing the generic Buspirone and metabolite. But FDA permitted only the metabolite to be manufactured. Also the drug makers prevented the generic version of Buspirone coming into the market. Later the company sued for the rights to manufacture the products. The federal court delivered the ruling in favor of the company saying that they are eligible to manufacture the generic version of Buspar called Buspirone. However the latest news says that the ruling of generic Buspirone has been reversed i.e. against the company and it is at a check that the ability of consumers to buy the Buspar at a cheaper rate or purchasing a less expensive version of the drug remains uncertain.

The main thing the company adds is that don’t share the medicine with others for whom it was not prescribed. It is not advisable to use it for other health conditions. It should be stored in the room temperature and kept away from children. A Buspirone (Buspar) tablet comes in 5 mg, 10 mg, 15 mg, and 30 mg respectively.
