The side effects of Buspar are all the same as that of the Buspirone
because the drugs are all chemicals. Buspar has been studied
thoroughly in clinical labs. In these studies some side effects were
noticed in the group of people who were taking this drug as compared
to another group who were not taking this kind of a drug. The side
effects were studied and then recorded.
The most common side effects associated with Buspirone (Buspar)
involve the nervous system. Nearly 15% of the people suffer from
dizziness, drowsiness and headache. About 5% of the people were
experiencing fatigue, nervousness, insomnia – inability to sleep and
light-headedness. People may experience confusion, hostility,
nightmares, an involuntary vibration, lacking enthusiasm to do
things - Numbness and so on.
Some people also experience side effects such as feeling restless,
depressed mood are some of the serious side effects. There are some
less severe effects such as blurred vision and some sleeping
problems. There are some other side effects associated with
Buspirone such as nausea- the state precedes vomiting- about 10% of
patients experience this type of side effect. Dry mouth, diarrhea,
flatulence, rash, chest pain and irregular menstrual periods or
breakthrough bleeding are some of the other common problems
associated with the use of Buspirone.
Some of the side effects which are infrequently occurring are
suicidal thinking, seizures, and signs of allergic reaction. Rare
side effects of Buspar which occurred in less than 1% of people
taking the medication are change in taste, gas, joint problem,
nosebleeds, hair loss, acne, weight loss or gain and so on. It is to
be noted that any of the side effects listed are to be experienced
or not. It is necessary to tell your doctor about any side effects
if you develop/experience them so that he can diagnose and treat the
problem.
